Dental veneers – a longer term solution for whitening

A veneer is simply a very thin sheet of porcelain or other material that’s custom-made and bonded to the front of a tooth.

They are usually used to brighten tooth appearance, but like crowns, they can also improve shape or position by covering a chipped tooth or covering a slight gap.

Most people can take advantage of dental veneers. If you’re having a number of teeth done we’ll discuss what level of whiteness you want to achieve, while for solitary incisors we’ll work carefully to match your exact shade of teeth to give you a natural looking result.

If you have slightly larger gaps between teeth that veneers can’t solve, contact us to ask about orthodontics

Teeth whitening – a cost effective way to improve your smile

If your teeth have become stained by tobacco, tea or red wine, or even if they are just not naturally as bright as you would like, talk to us about whitening. It is relatively non-intrusive and cost effective and while not a permanent fix (particularly if you have tooth coloured fillings), it can transform your teeth in the short term.

At your initial consultation we’ll talk to you about the effect you want to create and what’s possible, before creating a mouthguard (also known as a bleaching tray) based on a dental impression. We’ll then show you how to safely use this at home with a bleaching gel, monitoring your progress over a few weeks.

If you have older, amalgam style fillings and would like those replaced with more natural white fillings to match your new smile we can take care of those too.

Don’t take a risk when whitening your teeth

Only dental professionals can legally whiten teeth using the sort of bleaching agents needed for treatment.

Home kits can be a risky alternative too: as out-of-the-packet mouthguards are less likely to fit and some people may have gums which are overly sensitive to the bleaching agent used, causing problems that a trained dental professional could otherwise advise on.
