Smile with confidence again with a dental crown or bridge

Cost-effective restorative dentistry

"I have been unlucky during the past year to have required a fairly considerable amount of dental work including two emergencies and one larger piece of work, however I have also been lucky to have been a patient at Church Lane. The dentist has put a considerable effort into the repair work and the work is outstanding! I could not recommend the practice more highly on every level."

Dental crowns and caps – help for damaged teeth

Crowns are used to cover damaged or unsightly teeth.

They are best used to restore teeth that have large fillings to give extra strength and support and improve appearance. While various materials can be used, porcelain generally provides the best appearance, blending perfectly with your other teeth to give you back your natural smile.

An alternative to crowns for back teeth can be an inlay/onlay, while veneers may be suitable for front teeth that are in good condition. Contact us to find out more or see our fees to give you an idea of the possible cost.

If you have discoloured but otherwise healthy teeth, find out more about teeth whitening and dental veneers.

Dental bridges - replacing missing teeth

Missing front tooth.

A missing front tooth will make most people extremely self-conscious and affect speech while losing one from the back of the mouth will impair eating and can lead to movement of the surrounding molars, as well as affect the shape of your face.

Dental implants offer a genuinely long term solution, but a tried and tested method that can be cheaper and still support surrounding teeth is to opt for a bridge. A conventional dental bridge effectively gives you a false tooth which is cemented to the surrounding teeth using the same sort of cap used in crowns. If you don’t want to consider an implant, ask us about a bridge.
